Choose the appropriate developer for your desired lift:

10 vol (3%) – tone on tone or darker
20 vol (6%) – 1–2 levels lighter
30 vol (9%) – 2–3 levels lighter
40 vol (12%) – 3–4 levels lighter
Addition 000 – more than 4 levels lighter

Mix colour with developer in a 1:1.5 ratio (or 1:2 for toners).
Apply evenly and leave for 30–55 minutes, depending on the lift required.
